---Murl's Obituary--- Murl was born on May 31, 1927 and passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2017. Murl was a resident of Big Springs, Nebraska at the time of passing. His early education was at Day Town, graduating from Big Springs Rural High School with the Class of 1944. After one year at UNL playing Husker football, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and sailed in the Pacific on the mine sweep, the U.S.S Harrier. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at 10:30am at the Zion Lutheran Church of Big Springs with Reverend Gary Rahe officiating. Interment will follow at the Big Springs Cemetery. Memorials can be made in lieu of flowers to the Big Springs Volunteer Fire Dept.### ============================= Murl I. Murl Irvin Mauser was born May 31, 1927 in Big Springs, NE to Ben and Blanche (Pocock) Mauser. His early education was at Day Town, graduating from Big Springs Rural High School with the Class of 1944. On September 29, 1946 he married Maxine Kallsen, and to this union three children were born, Sherry (Mike) Polk of North Platte, Beth (Larry) McCroden of Big Springs, and Kent (Danielle) Mauser of Big Springs. Murl took great pride in his 10 grandchildren, Jason (Larianne) Polk of Hooper, NE, Stacey (Kent) Headley of Ogallala, NE, Lori (Brad) Ehmke of Julesburg, CO, Amy (Jason) Schmaderer of Lincoln, NE, Nicole (Cory) Storer of Peoria, Ill, Jill (Bill) Newkirk of Bridgeport, NE, Lance (Jamie) Polk of North Platte, NE, Shannon (Mike) Suing of Gretna, NE, Adam (Malia) Polk of Northglenn, CO, and Scott (Mira) Mauser of Big Springs, NE. He is also survived by twenty three and a half great-grandchildren. Murl was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws, Walter and Meta Kallsen, brothers-in-law, Irvin Kallsen, Vern Kallsen, and Harold Bieber; sisters-in-law Vivian Kallsen and Jerry Mauser. He is survived by wife Maxine, children Sherry, Beth, and Kent, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, brother Harold Mauser, sister Mildred Bieber, sister Carole Ann Boyer, sisters-in-law, Gladys Yenter and Juanita Zoucha, and brother-in-law, John Yenter and many other relatives. Memorials can be made in lieu of flowers to the Big Springs Volunteer Fire Dept. or the Zion Lutheran Church c/o Kent Mauser 20544 Rd 24 Big Springs, NE 69122.
