Grand Island (Nebraska) Daily Independent July 1987 George D. Lincoln, 61, of ...., died unexpectedly Monday, July 20, at his home. Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Leo's Catholic Church with the Rev. Bernard Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be ...at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home ... Mr. Lincoln wa born Sept. 24, 1925, at Norfolk to George and Eva Pobanz Lincoln. He grew up in the Stanton area and graduated from Stanton High School. In 1944, he entered the Navy and served in World War II until 1946. He married Marcella A. Prachyl on Dec. 15, 1947, at Stanton. They farmed near Clearwater until 1967 when they moved to Grand Island. He then began working at New Holland and was working there at the time of his death. Mr. Lincoln was a member of St. Leo's parish, was a Third Degree Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus and a member of the Eagles, American Legion and the VFW. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Tom (Sandra) McCleery and Mrs. Don (Margaret) Williams, both of Grand Island, Mrs. Wayne (Cindy) Ruhe of Hampton and Mrs. Rockie (Georgine) Zalesky of Lincoln; five sons, James of Yankton, D.D., William of Loveland, Colo., Keith, Kevin and Clayton, all of Grand Island; 13 grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Gordon (Luree) Reese of Stanton. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; an infant daughter, a brother and a sister.
