Bio

Anne H. Murray, Ponca City resident, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2008 at her home. She was 84. A graveside service will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at the Bohemian National Cemetery north of Perry. The family will greet friends at Trout Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 7-9 p.m. Anne H. Murray was born in Mesquite, TX on July 7, 1923 to Herman and Emilie Majkus Holick. She attended I.X.L. school in Three Sands, Oklahoma, where she graduated from high school in 1941. She continued her education at Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa. Anne married Jack Murray Dec 21, 1944 in Perry, Ok. They made their home in Broken Arrow, Ok. She returned to Ponca City in 1961, where she owned and operated French's Boutique for many years before joining The JC Penney CO. Anne worked for over 25 years in the jewelry department at JC Penney, where she retired in 2006. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her Sunday afternoon polka parties with the #1 Oklahoma Polka Club. She is survived by her son Rod M. and his wife Mary of Ponca City; one granddaughter, Laura of Oklahoma City; brothers, Chas H. of Ponca City and George H. of Broken Arrow, nieces and numerous other nieces and nephews. Anne was preceded in death by her Parents, sisters, Vera Watchous and Lil Otto and one brother, Edward Hejtmanek. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Oklahoma, 1904 N.
