Vera H. Watchous, 79, homemaker, died Sat., Feb. 26, 2005 at her home in rural Newton. She was born Dec. 11, 1925 to Herman and Emilie (Majkus) Holick in Mesquite, TX. They preceded her in death. She married R. W. "Bob" Watchous on April 5, 1947 in Wichita. He preceded her in death as did their 2 daughters Ann and Lyn. Survivors: grandson Klee (Jennifer) of rural Newton; 3 grandchildren Kale R., Lane R. and Victoria; two brothers, Charles Holick of Ponca City, OK, George Hejtmanek of Broken Arrow, OK; sister, Anne Murray of Ponca City, OK. Also preceded by brothers, Joseph and Edward Hejmanek; sisters Blanche Hejtmanek and Lillian Otto. Funeral service at Palmyra Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Wed., burial at Green Valley Cemetery, rural Furley. Memorials with Newton Med. Center Vera H. Watchous Mem. Garden.
