The Daily Inter Lake Monday, September 22, 1952 page three CHARLES DENNY, BARBER, DIES Charles E. Denny, age 66, died Sunday afternoon at his home, 336 Third Ave. West. Mr. Denny was born in Leadore, Ida., March 28, 1886, to Thomas and Ellen Lipe Denny. On May 5, 1917, he was married to Nellie Wells in Salmon City, Ida., and in 1922 they came to Kalispell and continued to make that their home. He was a barber by trade and operated the Liberty Barber Shop on Second Street West. He joined the Odd Fellows in 1917 and was a Past Grand in Lake Lodge No. 50 of Kalispell and a very active member. He is survived by his wife, Nellie, and one son, William E., both of Kalispell; one daughter, Mrs. Thelma Bergeson of Junction, Ore., and four grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Will Vreeland and Mrs. Lizzie Bohannon, both of Salmon, Ida., and one brother, Edwin G. Denny of Craigmont, Ida. The body is at the Johnson Funeral Home where funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock by the Rev. George Van Leuven, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church. Lake Lodge No. 50, IOOF, will conduct its rites at the graveside in Conrad Memorial Cemetery. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Daily Inter Lake Thursday, September 25, 1952 page two CHARLES DENNY RITES OBSERVED Funeral services for Charles Denny were conducted in the Johnson Chapel Wednesday afternoon by the Rev. George Van Leuven pastor of the First Presbyterian Church. During the service two selected hymns were sung by Miss Jerry Caswell accompanied at the organ by Miss Louise Hanger. Members of the Odd Fellows were chose to act as pallbearers and included James Chochrane; Lon Lyford, William Willey, G. E. Thomas, D. M. McBride and Thomas S. Perry. Lake Lodge No. 50 conducted their rites at the graveside in Conrad Memorial Cemetery. Chares E. Denny was born in Leadore, Ida., March 28, 1886 to Thomas and Ellen Lipe Denny.
