Bio
Funeral services for Mr. Jasper J.W. Brister will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at Pitkin Baptist Church with Reverend Eugene Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale. Mr. Brister, 88, of Pitkin, entered eternal rest on Sunday, July 23, 2017 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jasper and Viola Brister and one son, Terry Brister. Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his loving wife of sixty eight years, Gladys G. Brister, of Pitkin; one son, Tony W. Brister and his wife, Laquita, of Lake Charles; one daughter, Theresa A. Akins, of Kinder; one brother, Leroy Brister, of Pitkin; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Fellowship Methodist Church, Hineston, on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. and will remain open until time of service on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.
