Bio

It is with great sadness that the family of Millie Sweeney announces her passing on Sunday, July 16th, 2017, at the age of 76 years after a long battle with cancer. She passed in peace during her sleep at Twin Pines Nursing Home. She was born on February 15, 1941, to Adolph and Hermine Kleiber, who preceded her in death. Millie grew up in Victoria, Texas and was a member of the inaugural graduating class of Victoria High School in 1958. Millie married Daniel Michael Sweeney of Ashland, Kentucky, and Victoria, Texas, on February 14, 1959. She is preceded in death by her sister Rose Mary. Millie was an active member of Grace Presbyterian Church and liked playing hand bells. She enjoyed years of playing softball and was an active bowler. She held league and City Secretary positions within the Victoria Bowling Association and was the editor of the Victoria County Genealogical Society quarterly publication. She was also very active with her boys when they were playing Little League baseball. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2017, from 6– 8 p.m. at Rosewood Funeral Home. A graveside service is scheduled for Thursday, July 20, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery with a Celebration of her life to follow at 11 a.m. at Grace Presbyterian Church with Rev.
