Henry Bewell "Billy" Richardson was the son of Raymond Richardson and Virginia "Virgie" Allee Richardson. This note was written by Henry's mother in his funeral book. Billy was born at Boone Prairie in 1929. He was a very sweet boy all his life. At the age of 3 years, he developed the rickets, and he had a hard time with this but finally he overcame it. He began school at 6 years and always got his lessons without any trouble. At his death he was in the 7th grade. While Billy lived, he lived at Boone Prairie, Ennis, Texas, Madison, Villa Leona, and Houston. On Wednesday December 28, 1942, Billy went to see his Grandma Allie to stay the day with her. He was riding with his uncle William "Hoppy" Taylor and some more men. Hoppy ran into a man crossing the Highway 75. He turned the car over 3 times. Hurting himself, his brother and brother's son. And Billy got his right leg almost cut off. He was in the Heights Hospital 2 days and nights. Then he was carried to the St. Joseph Hospital and had his leg taken off above the knee. He had gotten gangrine and it was too late to save him. He lived from 4 o'clock Friday January 1 until Saturday, January 2, at 4:23 and passed away. He was conscious until about an hour before he died. Billy was a wonderful child and we loved him so much. We will never forget him and may we so live to meet him where the soul of man never dies.
