Bio

Gwen Snitker, 81 of Hart, Texas passed away on June 17, 2017 in Dumas, Texas. Graveside service will be at 3:00PM on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 in Enochs Cemetery in Enochs Texas with Pastor Josh Faucett officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Gwen was born on November 1, 1935 in Morton, Texas to Bert Larue Jennings and Artie Gertrude (Melton) Jennings. Gwen grew up in Morton and graduated from Morton High School. She married Curtis Snitker on February 14, 1955. Gwen was a member of First Baptist Church in Hart, Texas since 1970 where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was a member of the Zealot Club in Hart and a GA (Girls in Action) Leader. Gwen loved to read, bird watching, painting, baking and photography – loved all things relating to nature. But most of all, she will always be remembered as a Christian Woman who so very much loved the Lord. Gwen is survived by 2 sons, Jody Snitker of Hart, Glen Snitker and wife Diane of Dimmitt and 1 daughter, Melissa Nolte and husband Franklin of Dumas, 1 sister, Lois Hogan and husband Ray of Burleson, 6 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Gwen is preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Snitker, 2 brothers, Melton Jennings and Curtis Wayne Jennings and 1 sister, Bessie Jean Jennings.
