Beloved son, brother, uncle & educator Alice Echo-News Journal (TX), 10 Feb 2006: BLUNTZER, Texas - Steven D. Lile, 54, of Bluntzer, Texas, a former resident of Alice and Freer, Texas, passed away Saturday, February 4, 2006. He was born January 13, 1952, in Alice, Texas, to Doris and Virgil Lile. He graduated from Freer High School, Del Mar College, and earned his bachelor and master degrees from Texas A&I University in Kingsville. He enjoyed music, was a talented wood carver, and collected campaign buttons, primitive antiques and antique wood working tools. He was an administrator for the Alice I.S.D. at the time of his death. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Russell H. and Tommy F. Lile. Survivors include his sister, Carol (John) Huntsinger of Corpus Christi; six nieces, a nephew and numerous grandnieces and grandnephews. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2006, at Sawyer-George Funeral Chapel with burial following at Sons of Hermann Cemetery in Orange Grove, Texas. Arrangements entrusted to Sawyer-George Funeral Home.
