Bio

Odessa - Mildred Ola McDonald, 100, of Odessa, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2007, at Parks Methodist Retirement Village. She was born January 4, 1907 in Thurber, T,X to Arthur Clarence and Ada Eugenia Hull. She married H. H. (Rosie) McDonald, December 1934 in Iraan, TX. He preceded her in death in 1989. Mildred, known to her family as "Gammy," grew up and attended school in Thurber. She was a licensed vocational nurse while living in Wink and she loved children. She was a homemaker, a good cook and always active in the Baptist Church. She served in the Womens Missionary Union, Girls Ambassadors, and as a Sunday School Teacher. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Bettye Jean Wallace. She is survived by her son, Pete McDonald and his wife, Ann of Odessa; (6) grandchildren, Gregg McDonald and wife Jana of Odessa, Gary McDonald of Dallas, Matthew McDonald of Irving, Vance Wallace and wife LaQuita of Boerne, Cristy Wallace of Aledo and Leslie Burns of Wylie; and (7) great-grandchildren, Luke, Sarah, Rachel, Jordan and Micah Wallace and Grace and Gabe McDonald. There will be a visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 23, 2007, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 24, 2007, at the Hamlin Cemetery in Hamlin, Texas with Rev. Tommy Parker officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Immanuel Baptist Church Youth Group. Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
