Evelyn Roach, 80, passed away on Aug. 3, 2008. She was born on March 31, 1928, in Ellinger, to the late Charlie and Henrietta Buzek Shimek. She was a member of the K.J.Z.T. She is survived by her husband, George Roach of El Campo; sons, John Roach and wife Cheryl of El Campo, Jimmy Roach and wife Joyce of Edna, and Kenny Roach and wife Roxane of Katy; grandchildren, Tiffany Riha and husband Troy, Ashley Koudela and husband Jason, Austin Roach, Zachary Roach, Jason Roach; and two step-grandchildren, Ron Gabrysch and wife Denise, and Michael Gabrysch and wife Shannon; great-grandchildren, Cole and Camie Riha; and step-grandchildren, Tristan, Trentin, Tabia, and Taylor Gabrysch; sister, Mary Ryan of Bryan; and sister-in-law, Leona Shimek of Wharton. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jerry Shimek Sr. Visitation will begin on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Triska Funeral Home. A rosary will be held on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic with the Rev. Augustine Asante officiating. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Rick Shimek, Bob Shimek, Ronnie Shimek, Troy Riha, Jason Koudela, and Jerry Shimek.
