WHITTIER, Calif. - Dennis J. Powers, 52, of Whittier, Calif., formerly of Chapman, died Monday at this home. Services are pending. Mr. Powers was born July 24, 1932 to Dan and Clara Powers in Merrick County. The family moved to Palmer when he was young and he was educated in Palmer and Grand Island. After completing his education, Mr. Powers served in the Army. On Feb. 16, 1953, he married LaVonne Dicman of Worms. They moved to California when Mr. Powers was discharged from the service. In 1971 they returned to Chapman where Mr. Powers owned and operated the Lone Tree Service Station. In 1978 they moved to Whittier, Calif., where he worked for The Hood Corporation until his death. Mr. Powers was a member of the Eagles Club.
