Bio

Born - Miriam Kalula Kane 28 Oct 1923 – 14 Aug 1997 Miriam was survived by her mother, Fannie Kameha Kane of O'ahu, Hawaii; eight children, 25 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and her estranged husband, Norman Hill of Utah. ∼ Miriam Kane liked to call herself Talula, even though her name was Kalula. I think it may have been a popular name at the time. Even her adult son, Leland, thought on the day he died, that Talula was his mother's name. Miriam Kane married Lewis Enchicco. Somewhere along the line, and AFTER WWII; someone decided to change the surname to an American sounding name. Now, Miriam Kalula (Talula) Kane Enchicco becomes a Ford. Then many children later, someone files for divorce and Miriam marries a second time. She then becomes Miriam Kalula (Talula) Kane Enchicco Ford Hill. Miriam was well educated and worked in many different fields, to keep her eight children fed. I know she worked most of her life, until her health was failing. She believed in her church and all that it promised her. I hope her planet is a peaceful one and she is happy with her new name. It gets confusing when looking at genealogy and no one knows or has bothered to ask questions about the backstory. Ask your family elders now; tomorrow is not guaranteed. Get a "private" DNA test through a reputable laboratory. What you do with the results will be your business. Imagine a younger generation seeing all those names on their ancestors memorial and not knowing the backstory. Imagine all the stories being told by complete strangers on some untrustworthy ancestry site about all the names this ancestor has.
