Schuyler native dies in Columbus Mrs. Willis C. (Pearl M.) Pelter Sr., 87, Schuyler native, died Nov. 24 at Morys Haven, Columbus, after a long illness. Rev. Frank Kordek officiated at the Friday 9:30 a. m. Mass of the Resurrection at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, Columbus. Scripture service was held at 7:30 p. m. Thursday at McKown Funeral Chapel. Burial was in the parish cemetery. The daughter of John and Elva Scanlan, she was born June 9, 1889 in Schuyler. In early childhood she was adopted by John and Bertha Wittenburg. She was a graduate of Schuyler High School and was a school teacher. She was married to Willis C. Pelter May 7, 1912 at St. Augustine's Catholic Church. Mrs. Pelter was a member of St. Bonaventure's and Christian Mothers. Survivors include her husband, daughter, (Dorothy) Mrs. Wendell Walters, Columbus; sons. Willis C. Jr., Modesto, Calif; and Lawrence, Oak Park, III.; sisters, Mrs. Amy Motter and Mrs. Hazel Woody, both of Burbank, Calif 11 grandchildren and four great- grandchildren.
