Butler site-Hastings resident, Richard “Dick” Dickerson, 93, passed away Monday, May 29, 2017, at Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society-Hastings Village, Hastings, Nebraska. Services will be Thursday, June 1, 2017; 10:00 A.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Pastor Steve Markle officiating. Burial with military rites by Hastings Veterans Organizations will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. Memorials may be given to Mary Lanning Rehab. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 31, 2017; 1:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. with family present 7:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service. Dick was born December 25, 1923, in Hastings, Nebraska to Francis E. & Gertrude (Burroughs) Dickerson. He graduated from Holstein High School in 1940 and attended Hastings College. Dick served with the U.S. Navy from January 15, 1941, until December 23, 1941, and worked at the Navy Depot. Dick married Gladys S. Mues on April 26, 1955, in Las Vegas, Nevada; she preceded him in death on December 8, 1995.He owned and operated Parkside Living Residence from 1956 until 1997 and East Side Drug in Hastings for 20 years.He was a life member of the Knights of Pythias, American Legion, DAV, VFW, Elks, Elk’s Golf Club, and Eagles. Dick was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gladys; two brothers, Earl L. and Ronald (Duke); and three sisters, Dorothy McKie, Roberta Scheidies and Mary Clark. SURVIVORS: Son: Jon C.
