Preliminary research shows he is the grandson of Revolutionary War patriot Littleberry Sweeney White (1750-1842 Nash County NC) and the son of Charles S. White (1786 NC - 1854 Nacodoches TX) who fought in the War of 1812 and the Texas Revolution. This Littleberry served in the military first during the Mexican War (1846-1848) and then possibly registered again as a private for the Confederacy during the Civil War. There are multiple Littleberry Whites in the extended family tree so it is not always clear which records apply. His mother was Charles' 2nd wife, Sarah/Sally King. Two mentions found in Waco newspapers: 1) 14 Jan 1900, a short blurb on the wedding of Mr Frank White, "son of Mr Berry White, one of Texas' pioneers" to Miss Orrie Owens. 2) 22 Jul 1905, long article on locals meeting to celebrate the "lost and glorious cause" of the Confederacy, notes that Mr Berry White and two other elderly comrades now answer a heavenly bugle call. Littleberry White marries Martha E. King on 6 Feb 1851 in Nacodoches TX.
