Bio

Ola Mae Nunn, 91, of Hereford, and formerly of Pampa, died May 14, 2017 in Hereford. Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Pampa, with Rev. Kevin Bushart, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Hereford, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mrs. Nunn was born May 13, 1926 in Lela to G. L. and Myrtle Darrow. She married John D. Nunn on April 20, 1951 in Shamrock, and he preceded her in death. Ola Mae had been a resident of Shamrock before moving to Pampa in 1977. She moved to Amarillo in the late 1980’s, and then in 2015, she moved to Hereford. She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, both in Shamrock and Pampa, retiring after 28 years of service. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and volunteered for Good Samaritan Christian Services in Pampa for many years. Survivors include her daughter, Cathy Nunn of Hereford; a sister, Billie Landrum and husband Hearld of Lubbock; five nephews, Mark Landrum and wife Billie of Amarillo, Terry Landrum and wife Jolynn of Brownwood, Jerry Landrum and wife Judy of Lantana, Randy Landrum of Lubbock, and Chris Darrow of California; one niece, Lisa Torbet and husband Mark of Samnorwood; and many other nieces, nephews and cousins. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kings Manor, 400 Ranger, Hereford, Texas 79045.
