Muncie - James K. Koger, 80, Muncie, passed away Thursday evening, May 11, 2017, at his home. He was born June 5, 1936, in Muncie, the son of James E. and Ermon (Beaty) Koger. James enjoyed fishing, listening to Country music, cookouts with family and friends, and working on lawn mowers. He worked at Borg Warner as a machine operator and retired in 1991 after working there for thirty years and one month. Mr. Koger was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran and served in Korea and Japan. Survivors include his wife of fifty-nine years, Rebecca (Ruddick) Koger; four children, John (wife Rita) Koger, Jeffery (wife Elena) Koger, Lisa (husband Gerald) Hackemack and Cathy (husband Richard) Creek; one brother, Robert (wife Judith) Koger; one sister, JoNelle (husband Tom) Ruddick; eight grandchildren, Spencer Koger, Jessica Koger, Amanda Koger, Austin Creek, Casey Creek, George Creek, Josey Hackemack and Luke Hackemack; one great-grandchild, Raylan Creek and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ermon Koger and two brothers, Darrel and Cecil. Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 15, 2017, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 W. Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304 with Pastor Steve Graves officiating Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Memorial Park with Military Rites by Veterans of Delaware County Honor Guard.
