Bio

Lawrence Cyril Horecka, 72, of El Campo, died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2003. He was born April 6, 1931, in El Campo, to the late Cyril and Anna Simek Horecka. He was a heavy equipment diesel mechanic for Mustang Tractor. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of St. Philip's Catholic Church. Survivors: daughters, Linda Kaluza, Judy Welsh, Anna Mason and Neta Ripple, all of El Campo; son, John Raska of El Campo; sisters, Irene Maresh of Ganado and Ann Schilhab of Comfort; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by: sister, Ruby Poessel; and brother, Leroy Horecka. Visitation will begin 10 a.m. Friday at Triska Funeral Home chapel. A rosary will be recited 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home chapel. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St Philip's Catholic Church, the Rev. Gary Janak officiating. Burial with military honors under the auspices of American Legion Post 251 will be at Holy Cross Memorial Park. Triska Funeral Home, El Campo, 979-543-3681.
