MCCOY FUNERAL HOME OBITUARY: "Maria Socorro West, 85 of Sweetwater, Texas passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene. Funeral services for Maria will be on Monday, April 10, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at McCoy Chapel of Memories. Bill Butler will be officiating the service. There will be a family visitation on Sunday, April 9, 2017 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at McCoy Funeral Home. Maria was born April 23, 1931 in Gomez Fariz, Chihuahua, Mexico. She married James Henry West on April 24, 1960 in El Paso, Texas. She lived in the Sweetwater area since 1979. She loved to garden and plant flowers. Maria loved her children, grandchildren, and her neighbors. Survivors include son: Henry West & wife, Rolinda of Trent; daughters: Nettie Rose & husband, Jerry of Abilene; Mary Fuentes & husband Ramiro of Sweetwater; 11 grandchhildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Maria was preceded in death by husband, James Henry West; sons-Albert Clifton West & James Edward West. Pallbearers will be: DJ Shumaker, Joseph West, Martin Cortez, Daniel Lopez, Michael Newton, Cody Harris, John Cooper, & Josh Vaughn."
