Bio

Joan Marie Kolstad Healey 1932 - 2017 Our loving mother, wife, and friend, Joan Marie Kolstad Healey, passed away peacefully at her home in Alpine, Utah, on Monday, March 21, 2017, after a valiant fight with many age related illnesses. Mom was born on June 9, 1932, in Compton, California, to Harold Darvin and Florence Marie Healey Kolstad. When Mom was in elementary school, her family first moved to Alpine, then to American Fork and then back to Alpine where they remained the rest of their lives. Mom married William Elvin Healey on February 21, 1951. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo Utah LDS Temple on February 21, 1975. Mom was very active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many callings over her lifetime, the last of which was a temple worker at the Mount Timpanogos Utah LDS Temple. Mom loved music and sang in a double trio for many years, singing at various special occasions as well as in church. Mom loved her children and was very proud of what they had accomplished in their lives. Her family was always first and foremost in her thoughts. Mom is survived by her five children: LeRon (Connie) Healey, Richfield, UT; Alese Jolley, Pleasant Grove, UT; Todd Healey, Alpine, UT; Korey (Jody) Healey and Ryan (Stefanie) Healey, Alpine, UT; nine grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Mom was preceded in death by her husband, Elvin; son, Kelly; two grandsons: Tyler Huff and Brandon Healey; her brother, Edgar; and sister, Dorothy. Funeral: Mountainville LDS Chapel | Alpine Arrangements: Anderson & Sons Mortuary Interment: Alpine City Cemetery The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Chris Penn, Ann Leseberg and Intermountian Hospice Care for providing such wonderful care to Mom.
