Bio
Ann R. Marek, age 80, of Ennis, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, March 9, 2017. She was born July 2, 1936 in Alma, Texas to Emil and Anna Louise (Fridel) Jurik. After her graduation from Saint John High School, Ann went to work for Southwestern Life Insurance in Dallas.Throughout her life, she was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed going to polka dances with her family and friends. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her. Ann was a charter member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, as well as a member of KJZT, Sokol KHB Ennis, and the VFW Auxiliary. She also spent many years assisting with the family business, East Texas Paving Company. She is preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Louise Jurik, and a son, Bart William Marek, a special needs child that she devoted her life to care for. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 P.M. with a Rosary at 7 P.M. on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home in Ennis. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 A.M. on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Saint John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Ennis.
