Bio

DEBRA EUGENIA HAAS January 31, 1952 ~ February 28, 2017 "Everybody loved Debbie. She was a great daughter, sister, wife, mother, home school teacher, Awana leader, church choir member, volunteer "taxi" driver and friend." Debra Eugenia Haas of Battle Ground, Washington, passed away at home February 28, 2017 with her husband of 43 years at her side. We all miss her so much already, but rejoice that she is no longer suffering here on earth but joyfully living with her Savior in Heaven. John 3:16 Debbie was born at Vancouver Memorial Hospital in Vancouver, Washington to Eugene and Ruth (Dollar) Darrow. She graduated from Battle Ground High School in Battle Ground, Washington and attended classes at Clark College in Vancouver, Washington. She worked in various jobs: including elder care, woodworking, Jantzen Swimwear, Western Electric, Target and as a U.S. Census taker. Debbie was a happy wife, homemaker and mother. She enjoyed machine embroidery, stamping, and travel. She was a member of the Cherry Grove Friends, Battle Ground Baptist, and New Heights churches, all in Clark County, Washington. Debbie is survived by her husband, David Henry Haas; sons, David Eugene (Angie) Haas (the best granddaughter, Olivia) and Nathan Robert Haas; sister, Shirley Michael (her children, Dan and Cindy); brothers, Ray (Barbara) Darrow (their children, Eric and Tess) and Tim (Linda) Darrow (their children, Misty, Tiffany, Lacey, and Stephanie); a host of aunts, uncles and cousins; and Yorkie, Beatrice. She was preceded in death by her parents; all of her Dollar aunts and uncles; and her beloved Yorkie, Twister. A memorial service was held Sunday, March 12, 2017 at Vista Community Church, 20018 NE 22nd Ave., Ridgefield, Washington, 98642.
