DAILY INTER LAKE July 23, 1970 Page 2 Joseph Komenda, 72, Kalispell, passed away this morning in Kalispell. He was born October 21, 1897 in Dwight, Nebraska to Joseph and Pauline Komenda. He received his education in Nebraska, later moving to North Dakota. In 1927 he was married to Josephine Haag at Hettinger, North Dakota. She preceded him in death October 14, 1965. Mr. Komenda came to the Flathead in 1934 and for many years was employed by the Flathead Mine. September 1, 1943 he started with the Montana Highway Department and retired as crew foreman in December 1962. He is survived by two sons, Donald, Kila and Gene, Polson; two brothers, Mike and Lewis, both of North Dakota; three sisters, Mary White, Superior, Nebraska and Frances Taylor and Bertha Komenda, both of Yucca Valley, California and nine grandchildren.
