He is buried next to his parents grave. Suggested edit: Howard J. Roemer, 72 town of Evergreen, died on Tuesday, Oct. 19, 1999, at his home. He was born July 21, 1927, to John and Helen (Johnson) Roemer in Hampton, Iowa, were he was raised and later farmed the family homestead. He moved to the town of Evergreen in 1951 where he farmed and later was employed as a concrete finisher. He is survived by one son, David (Levelle), Knox, Ind.; one daughter, Susan (Willis) Combs, also of Knox; nine grandchildren; one great-grandson, and one sister, Dorothy (Carl) Heron, Hampton, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margaret; and a son, Bruce. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 21, at Scalzo Funeral Home, Spooner. A graveside service will take place at noon on Friday at Hampton Cemetery, Hampton, Iowa.
