Bio

Nettie Hooten, 93, of Valley Mills passed away Thursday, Jan. 25, 2007. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church Valley Mills. Interment will be in the Valley Mills Cemetery under the direction of Foss Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Hooten was born March 23, 1913, in Delta County, Texas. She was the daugher of John and Dora Bass Cummings. She married Hollis Hooten on July 4, 1928. The couple moved to Valley Mills in 1972 from Lubbock. She was devoted to family, quilting and ceramics. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1980. She is survived by her daughter, Janice Golden and husband, Tommy of Valley Mills; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
