Services for H.E. "Butch" Hooten, 60, of Lubbock will be at 2 p.m. today at St. Lukes United Methodist Church in Lubbock with the Rev. Jerry Golden officiating and Pat Donley assisting. Burial will be in Idalou Cemetery under the direction of White Funeral Home in Lubbock. He died Friday, Jan. 31, 2003. He was born Aug. 24, 1942, in Borger. He moved to Lubbock from Borger in 1958 and graduated from Lubbock High School in 1961. He married Doloris Gregory on Aug. 5, 1961, in Lubbock. He owned and operated several Phillips 66 stations before beginning work with Benton Oil Co. in 1978, where he was a supervisor. He was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Vivian Fortenberry of Carthage and Vicky Armstrong of Lubbock; his mother, Nettie Hooten of Valley Mills; a sister, Janice Golden of Valley Mills; and five grandchildren.
