Bio

Betty Ellen Marlow, 87, of Sullivan passed away 12:18 a.m. Monday, February 27, 2017 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 4, 2017 at McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Sullivan. Visitation will be held one hour before the services at McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Sullivan. Inurnment will be in Greenhill Cemetery, Sullivan. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice. Betty was born December 19, 1929 in Bethany the daughter of Ross Jones and Alice May (Galloway) Morrison. She married Thomas L. Marlow February 15, 1948 in Bethany. They were blessed with three sons, William L. Marlow, Terry L. Marlow and Timothy A. Marlow. Together they built and ran T.L. Marlow Trucking in Sullivan. She was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Bethany. She is survived by her sons, William L. Marlow of Sullivan, and Timothy A. (Jodie) Marlow of Sullivan; sister, Virginia Rose of Windsor; grandchildren, Chad (Diana) Marlow of Shelbyville, Angela Marlow-Serritella and Hollie (Matt) Atchison of Sullivan, Molly Crow-Brummer of Effingham and Jeb Crow of Sullivan; great-grandchildren, William, Jessica and Caitlyn Marlow of Shelbyville. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Thomas on April 21, 2002, son, Terry L. Marlow in August of 1976, three brothers, Orlando Price Morrison, Everett Lawrence Morrison and Oliver Pooch Morrison. Sisters, Alma Lucille Hornbeck, Phyllis Morrison Walker and Beaulah Grace Rhodes, and her beloved dog Jake.
