LOVINGTON — Christine Campbell Parker, 91, of Hobbs and formerly of Lovington, died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2007, at the Lea Regional Hospital. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Vergil Ichtertz officiating. Burial will follow at the Lovington Cemetery. She was born March 5, 1915, in Jacksboro, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, Collin Cole and Bessie Lee Chambers; husband Richard Clayton Cambell; husband Tom Parker; daughter Gail Campbell Hopkins; sister Lessie Chambers Stone; and two brothers, Collin Chambers and Jasper Chambers. Survivors include son Richard Collin Campbell and wife Sharon of Payson, Ariz.; brother Kenneth and wife Gerri Chambers of Lovington; three grandchildren: Shelly Marsh Rice and husband Jimmie of Lovington; Glynis Gragg; and Clay Campbell; great-grandchildren Kyla Rice, Daniele Peters, Chelsea Peters, Zack Campbell and Nathan Campbell. Christine graduated from Lovington High School in 1933. She lived and worked in Eddy County for many years, retiring from the Eddy County Clerks office in Carlsbad. Upon retirement she moved to Lovington in the 70s, making it her home again. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Christine's name to The NM Boys & Girls Ranches, PO Box 9, Belen, NM 87002-9001 or to Lea County Cowboy Hall of Fame 5317 Lovington Hwy., Hobbs, NM 88240 Visitation will be 1-5 p.m. today and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday. Services are being directed by Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home.
