Bio
Florence Lay Foley, 85, a native of Baldwin County and a resident of Robertsdale, died Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010 peacefully at home. She was a retired nurse from the University of South Alabama Family Practice in Mobile. She was preceded in death by her husband, W.E. "Bud" Foley; and two sons, William R. "Billy" Foley and Leonard E. Foley. Survivors include a two daughters, Ann F. Nitteberg of Robertsdale and Linda Busch of Decatur; two sons, J.P. Foley of Austin, Texas, Danny Foley of Robertsdale; three brothers, W.D. Lay of Jackson, Miss., Andrew Lay of Elberta and Randy Lay of Foley; 14 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and thee great-great-grandchildren. The family would like to express a special thank you to Debbie and Debra of Covenant Hospice. Visitation will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10 at Bethel Baptist Church, Robertsdale. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 11 at the church. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family requests memorial donations be made to Bethel Baptist Church, P.O. Box 908, Robertsdale, AL 36567. Arrangements are by Mack Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Robertsdale.
