Bio

Marjorie M. Jennings - 1928-2017 Marjorie M. Jennings, 88 of Houston, TX, peacefully passed away on Monday, February 20, 2017 and is with her savior Jesus Christ. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and dear friend, she will be remembered as generous, smart, loving, and the most sophisticated lady at all times. Marjorie was a graduate of The University of North Texas. Her early career began with many years of volunteer work as a member of the San Antonio Conservation Society, for which she served as the 4th Vice President. She was also the General Chairman of NIOSA. As a lifetime collector of antiques, when she moved to Houston, she started her own highly successful business as a Personal Property Appraiser and was a member of the International Society of Appraisers. For 32 years, her work took her around the world while she represented numerous attorneys, Texas ranchers, and museums. Born in Waco, TX in 1928, she graduated from Pleasanton High School in 1946 where she was a cheerleader, "Most Beautiful," and "Class Favorite." She was also Queen of the Atascosa County Fair. She was preceded in death by her son, William L. Reynolds III, and her sister, Frances Rundell. Left behind to cherish her memory are her husband, Joseph F. Jennings, married 55 years, and daughter Marcia Allen, husband Matt, Dr. Leslie Jennings and his wife Mary Jo, and grandchildren, Ashley, Lindsay, and William. Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family at two o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the Bradshaw-Carter Funeral Home, 1734 West Alabama Street in Houston. A service celebrating Marjorie's life will begin at three o'clock, where Dr. Linda Christians, Pastor at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, is to officiate. A reception will follow this service. The interment will be at two o'clock in the afternoon on Sunday, February 26, 2017 at Humphreys Cemetery, Highway 80 East in Martindale, Texas. Published in Houston Chronicle on Feb. 24, 2017
