Bio

Funeral services for Mr. L. J. Vacek, age 89, of Schulenburg, Texas will be held from the St. Rose Catholic Church in Schulenburg on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 11 am. Visitation will begin to the public after 8:30 am Saturday at the St. Rose Catholic Church in Schulenburg. The VFW memorial services will be held at 10:15 am, with the Parish rosary to follow at 10:30 am prior to the mass. All services will be held at the St. Rose Catholic Church in Schulenburg. Interment will be in the St. Rose Catholic Cemetery in Schulenburg. Full military honors will be conducted by the Schulenburg VFW. The family requests donations be made to: The St. Rose Catholic Church or School, Schulenburg, Texas or a charity of one's choice. Survivors include: wife-Frances Vacek of Schulenburg; daughters-Connie Shimek/husband David of La Grange, Sandra Warnken/husband Kevin of Schulenburg and Tammy Vacek of Weimar; sons-Roland Vacek of Schulenburg and Jesse Vacek/wife Lezlie of Schulenburg; 9 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his Parents; 3 sisters; 2 infant sisters; and 4 brothers.
