Reverend Thurman (Jack) L. Elmore Sr., of Macomb, was born April 11, 1926, age 90. He went to be with the Lord on February 3rd, 2017. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Lenora L. Elmore of the home; 2 sons, Hollis Benton and wife Glenda, Thurman (Skip) Elmore Jr. and his wife Cindy, 4 daughters, Claudia Colungo, Carol Miller, Juanita Elmore, Virginia Van Pay and Kecia Keeling (raised by Jack and Lenora as a daughter) and her husband Duke; one sister Francis (Pat) Elmore. He leaves behind 20 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Jack was a longtime member of the Nazarene Church, at age 61 God called him to become an ordained minister. He began preaching throughout southeast Oklahoma and performed MANY weddings throughout the community. Jack served his country in WWII in the Navy. Preceding him in death are his parents, Elvia and Ola Elmore; daughter, Linda Vance, sisters, Vival Terry and Orpha Smith, brothers, Roy and Bill Elmore; grandson, Billy Vance; great, great-grandson, Jaxson Louis Woods. Viewing available on Thursday February 9th, 2017. Services will be held at Shawnee Church of the Nazarene, 401 N. Market, Shawnee, OK on February 10th, 2017. There will be a viewing from 10 am until time of service at 2pm. Interment to follow at Prairie View Cemetery, Macomb, OK.
