Champaign Democrat - Jan 9, 1912 David Hullinger died on Saturday morning and he was buried Sunday afternoon in the cemetery at Nettle Creek. For a number of years Mr Hullinger who was living with his only son, Tobias, on the Adam Wiant farm in Mad River Township, and it was there that his death occurred. He was born in Kentucky August 12, 1823, and he was over 89 years of age. In 1852 he married Miss Peggy Metz and to them one child was born, Tobias, who survives. The wife died about 9 years ago. In coming to Ohio, he first settled near Tremont City and later moved to Mad River Township where he had since resided. He left, besides his son, 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. His business in his younger years was wood chopping and he is reputed to have cleared off more land of timber than any other in the business.
