Death of Annanias Clevenger. Died, at 3:00 o'clock in the morning of June 11, 1903, Annanias Clevenger, of a complication of diseases and old age. About six years ago he had a stroke of paralysis and was a great sufferer until death relieved him. "Uncle Annanias," as he was commonly called by his friends who were leigion, was born in Cooke County, Tennessee, Feb. 15, 1833, and was the son of Allen Clevenger. He was married to Harriette Allen of Tennessee, Dec. 24, 1854. To them were born two children namely, Jas. A. Clevenger, now in Cooke Co., Tenn.; and Elizabeth, wife of I.L. Gibson, Vibbard, formerly of Tennessee. This wife died on July 17, 1858. Then he was married to Mary E. Lillard, Aug. 14, 1860. To them were born seven children, namely; Walter L. now of Denver, Colo.; Lillian and Hattie (both lived to womanhood and married, now deceased); Milton, of Vibbard; Murray, of Richmond; William , of Lawson; and Claudie, the younger daughter who remained with her father until his death. This wife died on Feb. 4, 1882. He then married Kate Fox of Tennessee and came to Missouri in 1891 and settled on a farm near Vibbard where he remained until he died. The wife died on May 27, 1895. He was a good citizen, an excellent neighbor, and to know him was to be his friend. His death leaves a vacancy in the community that will be hard to fill. Funeral services were held at New Garden Church by the Elder Allen Sisk, after which the remains were laid to rest in the New Garden burying ground, followed by a long concourse of relatives and friends.
