Bio
Donald Edward Ridl was born on 8 December 1917, in Olivia, Renville County, Minnesota, to Patrick Henry and Mary Johanna Kubesh Ridl. On 2 May 1938, Donald married Helen Georgianna Frank, the daughter of Michael and Anna Serbus Frank, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bechyn. Donald and Helen had two daughters, Mary and Theresa, and six sons, Larry, Kenneth, Donald, Jr., Robert, Chuck, and Jerry. Another son died as an infant. Donald died very suddenly, at the age of 60, at his farm home, located south of Renville, on Sunday morning, 29 October 1978, in Renville County, Minnesota. Donald was survived by his wife, Helen; sons and daughters; 16 grandchildren; father, Patrick Edward Ridl of Olivia, and sisters, Mrs. Peter Wacek of Olivia and Mrs. Francis Roberts of Bear Creek, Wisconsin. His funeral service was held on Wednesday, 1 November 1978, at 2:00 p.m., from the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Renville. Father Ken Wendinger officiated at the mass. Music was provided by organist, Mrs. John Gunter. Pallbearers were Bernard Goblirsch, Ronald Kubesh, Richard Chan, Fred Kodet, Gary Carnes, and Patrick Branick. Donald was buried in the Holy Redeemer Catholic Cemetery, near Renville, in Renville County, Minnesota.
