Obit-Gonzales Inquirer Jan. 22, 1901 Died at the home of his son-in-law, Mr. W. J. Stanley, in Wilson county on Saturday, January 8, 1901, at 8 a.m., B. M. Gilchrest, aged about 80 years. Mr. Gilchrest was a resident of Gonzales county and an honored old citizen. His remains were buried at Union Hill, Gonzales county. Mr. Gilchrest was a member of the Methodist church for 40 years and was an active christian worker. He leaves three daughters and four sons all grown with families. Could you consider revising the year of birth for this individual? On the 1850 United States Census, his age was reported as 14 which would put his year of birth at about 1836. Then the 1860 United States Census reports his age as 26 which would put his year of birth at about 1834. The 1870 United States Census reports his age at 38 which would put his year of birth at 1832. The 1880 United States Census reports his age as 47 which would put his year of birth at 1833.
