Bio

Roy Kliewer, age 67, of Stockham, NE died Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Omaha, NE. He was born February 8, 1949 in Aurora, NE. to Albert and Mary (Mierau) Kliewer. On February 21, 1969 he was united in marriage to Helen Schell, and to this union two children were born. Roy attended schools in Stockham, NE, York, NE. and Henderson, NE. Roy and Helen owned and operated the Essan House in Henderson for ten years. Roy worked for various farmers throughout his life and farmed with his son-in-law and grandson. He is survived by his wife Helen of Stockham, one son Kendall (Tracie Phelps) Kliewer from Sioux Falls S.D., one daughter Melissa and her husband Calvin Hiebner of Henderson NE. Six grandchildren, Peyton and Logan Kliewer from Sioux Falls S.D., Derek, Kaci, Jed and Erin Hiebner of Henderson, NE. Three brothers, Marlin (Mickey) of Wymore, NE., Orin (Janet) from Aurora NE., Berdon (Vivian) from Stockham, NE., also three sisters Diane (Lonnie) Salmon from Stockham NE, Linette (Murray) Jones from Holdrege, NE. and Carol (David) Holl from Kearney, NE. Two brother-in-laws, Richard (Cheryl) Heftie from Stockham, NE., and Doug (Karen) Tessman from Stockham, NE., as well as many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Arlyce Heftie and Olene Tessman and one nephew Dale Heftie. Graveside services will be held at 9:45 a.m. Saturday, January 21, 2017 at the Stockham Cemetery in Stockham, NE with the Reverend Paul Nauman officiating. Memorial services will follow at 10:30 a.m., at the Stockham Community Church. Visitation begins after 5:00 p.m. Thursday at Metz Mortuary in Henderson and continues all day Friday. Roy’s family will greet friends later Friday evening from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at the mortuary.
