SCHMIDT, Nell Age 84, of Liberty Township, died Friday, September 16, 2011 at Heritage Spring in West Chester, Ohio. She was born November 22, 1926 in Strawn, Texas the daughter of Franklin and Georgia (Fowler) Grant. She married Edward E. Schmidt on June 2, 1945 in Miami, Florida. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church since 1949 in which she was active in the choir, Altar Guild, Women's Board and chair of the Evening Circle; she also helped with Meals on Wheels. She is survived by her husband of 66 years; her children, Nedda Brown and husband Richard of Hamilton, Lynn Alcorn and husband Ronald of Liberty Township, Mark Schmidt and wife Paula of Liberty Township, Andy Schmidt of West Chester, Paula Dabbelt and husband Louis of Mason, Amy Walkup and husband Jeffrey of Hamilton, Karla Schmidt of Hamilton and Laura Sharratt and husband Michael of Fairfield; a sister, Doris Ann St. John and husband Bill of Dallas, Texas; nineteen grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Franklin Pierce Grant; sisters, Wanda Grant and June Salik and a grandson, Paul W. Brown. The family wishes to thank Hospice of Cincinnati and Heritage Spring for the care given to Nell. Donations may be made to Zion Lutheran Church Radio Fund, 212 South Front St., Hamilton, OH 45011.Services will be held at Zion Lutheran Church on Wednesday September 21 at 4:00pm with Rev. David Miller officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00pm until time of service at the Church. Burial will be in Butler County Memorial Park.
