Bio

Edith Studeny, 90, of Humble, Texas passed Friday, September 26, 2014. She was born August 4, 1924 in Shiner, Texas to the late Frank and Annie Hajek Novak. She retired from AT&T with 32 years of service. She was a founding member of St. Jerome Catholic Church in Houston, Texas and active in the Catholic Daughters and St. Vincent De Paul Society. Edith loved laughter, family, friends and was always ready with a smile. She is survived by her son Mark Studeny of Hallettsville, Texas, daughter Katherine Bourne and husband Michael of Humble, Texas and brother George "Red" Novak and wife Marcellyn of Houston. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Studeny, sisters Mildred Zaruba, Emma Westphal and Adel Henkhaus of Shiner, Texas. A funeral Mass is scheduled for Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Humble. For those wishing to participate, a Rosary will be recited before the funeral mass, beginning at 10:15 am. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution can be made to either Cure Alzheimer's Fund www.curealz.org/in-memory/edith-studeny or Catholic New Creation www.catholicnewcreation.org.
