Bio

Lillian Louise “Lill” Wietzki, 86, of Cairo, formerly of Grand Island died on Saturday, January 7, 2017. Celebration of life memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at All Faiths Funeral Home. Burial of ashes will be in Grand Island City Cemetery. Lillian was born July 28, 1930 in Elsie, NE, to Mike and Blanche (Kasselder) Foster. She grew up and received her education in the Ericson area. On July 2, 1948 she married Edward M. Wietzki. The couple spent most of their married life in Grand Island. Lill was employed by Woolco and Woolworths Department Store. She enjoyed planting flowers, sewing and most of all, spending time with her family. Lill was an exceptional cook who loved to share her recipes, and bake for the holidays. She will always be remembered for her wonderful advice, generosity and witty sense of humor. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Cindy Cassell (Dan Smith) of Lincoln; four grandchildren, Simon Cassell of Ericson, Sara (Jason) Mullen of Cincinnati, OH, Crystal Cassell of North Loup and Angela Cassell of Cairo; ten great-grandchildren, brother, Jim Foster of St. Paul and niece, Shelly (Ryan) Lindsey of Brainerd, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, an infant daughter, Linda, sons Gary and Mike Wietzki; and a brother, Darrell Foster.
