Myron Klug, 87, of Richland, Nebraska, died Thursday, December 15, 2016, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 21, at 10:30 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Columbus with Rev. Timothy White officiating. Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Gass Haney Funeral Home and continue on Wednesday from 9:30 AM until service time at the church. There will be a family prayer service on Wednesday at 10:15 AM at the church. Memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church or those of the family choice. Myron Klug was born August 27, 1929, in Richland (Colfax County), Nebraska, to Harold and Viola (Kasper) Klug. He attended Richland District 12 Grade School and graduated from Kramer High School in Columbus. On May 21, 1950, Myron married the love of his life, Louise Podany, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Columbus. The couple resided on the family farm north of Richland their entire life, where Myron loved feeding cattle. Myron had a deep appreciation for the military, and loved his country. When Myron took time to watch television, it was either a John Wayne movie or Fox News. Myron was a man who could fix anything, and taught his children the same. In the off season from farming, Myron and Louise worked with their daughter Renee and her husband helping build America’s Fiber Optic Network. This work took them across the United States, traveling to almost all the states. Myron studied and earned his Commodity Brokers License and was a licensed pilot. He served on the School Board at District 12, was treasurer for the Bellwood CoOp, and served on the Church Council as treasurer at Trinity Lutheran Church. Myron is survived by: Wife – Louise Klug of Richland, NE Daughter – Renee (Joseph) Sheridan of Wilmington, NC Daughter – Debra (Stephen) Oppliger of Valparaiso, NE Daughter – Lesley Klug of Los Angeles, CA Son – Greg (Sharon) Klug of Columbus, NE Daughter – Cindy (Stephen) Coufal of Omaha, NE 11 Grandchildren and 6 Great-Grandchildren Sister – Violet Thessen of Bellwood, NE Myron was preceded in death by: Parents – Harold and Viola Klug Sister – Bonnie Barcel Sister – Joyce Keith
