Bio

"Died-Mrs. Shelton, wife of Mr. George Shelton, died last Sat. morning at 8:30 at her home in Center Point. The deceased had been ill several weeks. Her illness was long and painful, but buoyed up by the strong love of her children and family, she clung to the hope that she would recover and never gave up until the very last. All that loving kindness and tender hands could do was done to alleviate the suffering which she bore with the greatest Christian courage through many a long weary day. Death to her while it case a shadow over the household was a sweet release from pain and suffering and the grave though dark and gloomy to some was the gateway to a happy eternity where sickness and pain are never known. She leaves to mourn her loss besides an aged brother, parents and sisters, a husband and several children. Fairfield Recorder - Oct. 11, 1895 issue: "Mrs. Shelton, wife of Mr. George Shelton, living four miles north of Butler, died last Sat. She was a sister of Messrs. Joe and Tom Ivy of this county. The Recorder tenders sympathy to the bereaved husband and relatives."
