Ludwick Frederic Grimm was born in August, 1864, in Germany. Ludwig Grimm MARRIED Caroline Grimm in about 1887 in Schopfloch, Bavaria, Germany. Ludwig and Caroline IMMIGRATED together to the United States, arriving May 4, 1888 on the ship Lahn, in New York City. The ship's manifest says that Caroline was Ludwig's wife, and they arrived with a six month old female baby named "Wilhe" (Wilhelmina?). Ludwig and Caroline MARRIED on May 5, 1888, in New York City, the day after they arrived. Most likely they had to remarry in the U.S. on a technicality. In 1889, Ludwig is listed in the Omaha City Directory as living with Henry Grimm, his brother-in-law, on the SW corner of Albright's Annex. By 1900, Caroline and Ludwig ("Louis") had had nine children, according to the 1900 U.S. census, with only four of the children still living at the time. So, in addition to Wilhelmina, they had four other children who had already died. The eight known children (out of twelve): 1. Wilhelmina Grimm B: Nov. 1887 in Schopfloch, Bavaria, Germany. D. before 1900, Omaha. 2. Henry Grimm b: SEP 1889 in Omaha, Nebraska. 3. Mary Grimm b: NOV 1893 in Omaha. 4. Annie Grimm b: APR 1897 in Omaha. 5. Freda Grimm b: NOV 1899 in Omaha. 6. George Grimm b: 1904 in Omaha. 7. Caroline Grimm b:1905 in Omaha. 8. Emma Grimm b: 1909 in Omaha.
