(Dick) Bush passed away peacefully at his home in Kennewick, Washington, on November 14, 2010. He was born on June 19, 1931, in Hamlet, Nebraska, to Oral E. and Laura Witzke Bush. Dick lost both of his parents at a young age and was raised by extended relatives in Nebraska and grew up farming and ranching. At the age of 19, he and two friends (Richard Large and Billy Creasman) hitch-hiked across Nebraska to join the Cornhusker Marine Recruit Platoon out of Omaha. After boot camp in San Diego his platoon was deployed to Korea. When Dick was honorably discharged he returned to Nebraska and worked for a short time on the old ranch. He later started a long successful career as a Heavy Equipment Operator in which he learned to operate almost every type of equipment made. He worked on all of the major hydroelectric projects along the Snake River and the WNP projects where he was involved in digging the hole for the Columbia River Generating Plant's Nuclear Reactor. Dick always had a love for horses and cattle and enjoyed spending his spare time roping in Rodeo's and Team Ropings all over the Pacific Northwest. He was always proud of the fact that he earned more than he spent in competing in these events. Later in life, Dick was introduced to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and became a faithful member of the Church and eventually was ordained to the office of a High Priest and served in various Church callings. Dick met Louise McDowell Johnson in 1977 and the two were married in West Richland on October 28, 1977. One year later on October 28, 1978, they were sealed together for time and all Eternity in the Salt Lake Temple. Dick is preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Arthur R. Bush and Pauline F. Bodeman; father inlaw John McDowell; sister in-law Linda Sillito; brother in-law Stephen McDowell. Dick is survived by his loving wife Louise; children James E. Bush, Goldendale, WA; Marlene K.
