(Vera) Kusek, 75, of 1665 18th Avenue, died this morning in Behlen Community Hospital after an illness of two years. The Rev. Flavius Czuba will officiate at 10 a.m. Saturday services at St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Scripture service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday at McKown Funeral Home where the body will lie in state after 1 p.m. Friday. Mrs. Kusek was born June 27, 1899, to Adam and Ann Pier of Tarnov and attended school there. Married to Joe M. Kusek, Nov. 24, 1920 at Tarnov, she lived at Elyria, Ord and Hastings before coming to Columbus in 1971. She was a member of St. Bonaventure Parish. Survivors include her husband; four sons, Lawrence, Richard and Eugene of Chicago, Leonard of Springfield, Va.; one daughter, Mrs. Bill (Adeline) Beechan of West Palm Beach, Fla.; 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. One brother and six sisters also survive; Pete Pier of Spalding; Mrs. Sophie Mostek of Utah; Mrs. Josephine Smollen of Denver; Agnes Pier of Columbus; Mrs. John (Marian) Winslow of Detroit; Mrs. Ben (Helen) Berchold of Chicago; Cecilia Pier of Michigan. Her parents, two brothers and four sisters preceded her in death.
