ERICSON — Janice R. Loseke, 77, of Ericson passed away Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016, at the Valley View Senior Village in Ord. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Ericson United Methodist Church. The Rev. John Ryding will officiate. Burial will be in the Bartlett Cemetery. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangement. Janice Rae was born Jan. 11, 1939, at Spalding to Carl J. and Gertrude E. (Henry) Harnapp. She was raised in rural Spalding and attended District 10 Country School in Greeley County and graduated from Spalding Public School in 1956. While in high school, Janice received her normal training and then taught school for two years. On June 2, 1958, she was united in marriage to Lee Loseke at the Lutheran Church in Albion. The couple made their first home south of Spalding. In the fall of 1973, they moved south of Ericson where they lived until 2011, when they moved into Ericson. Janice was a homemaker, a teacher’s aide at the Ericson Grade School and also worked on Saturdays at the Ericson Livestock Market and Sale Barn. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Bartlett. Janice was a member of the Wheeler Central School board and served on the Greeley County Election Board for many years. Janice belonged to extension clubs and helped her kids while they were in 4-H. Janice and Lee enjoyed polka dancing together and she enjoyed gardening, sewing, genealogy and home projects. Janice was most proud of her family and cherished all the time spent together. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Lee, of Ericson; two sons and daughters-in-law, Galen and Elizabeth Loseke of Kearney and Mark and Lori Loseke of Minden; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Eric Hadenfeldt of Lincoln and Susan and Greg Gehl of Ericson; nine grandchildren, Ethan and Hannah Loseke, Sydney McKay, Kodi and Neleigh Gehl, Zachary and Seth Hadenfeldt and Levi and Laci Loseke; a nephew, Brian Scafuri; one brother and sister-in-law, Eugene and Betty Harnapp of Spalding, and one sister and brother-in-law, Carlene and Rick Scafuri of Palatine, Ill. She was preceded in death by her parents.
