WALTHER, PHYLLIS "JEANNE," 68, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2006 at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany, N. She was born on April 7, 1938 in Alton, IN, the daughter of Frank L. and Myrtle Naomi Johnson Bernardi. She was a 1956 graduate of New Albany High School, a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Lanesville, had been a bookkeeper for Walther Trucking and had also been an employee of American Commercial Barge Lines and Caesars Indiana. She was also an avid bowler. She was preceded in death by her father; and one sister, Mary Ruth Bernardi. She is survived by her husband, Alvin Walther; one son, Vincent Walther (Tina); one daughter, Julie Wolfe; her mother, Myrtle "Naomi" Bernardi; and four grandchildren, Jerred and Jill Wolfe, and Dillon and Hannah Walther, all of Lanesville, IN. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lanesville, IN. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. -8 p.m. on Thursday at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon, and after 8 a.m. on Friday. The family suggests that memorial gifts be made to the St. John's Church Building Fund. Published in The Courier-Journal on 12/28/2006.
