Doris M. Bridges, 97 of Decatur, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2016, at Imboden Creek Living Center. Doris was born June 5, 1919, in Orchardville, IL to Edward E. and Floy (Cornstubble) Bright. She married Alman Bridges on September 27, 1941. He passed away October 25, 2007. She was a member of Sunnyside Road Church of Christ. She is survived by her three sons, Larry A. (Reta) Bridges of Tyler, TX, Kenneth R. (Evelynn) Bridges of Arlington , TX and Samuel B. (Cherylee) Bridges of Rochester, IL’ seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alman; three brothers; one half-brother; two sisters; two grandchildren and one great- grandson. The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Imboden Creek Living Center. Funeral services to celebrate the life of Doris Bridges will be 11 a.m. Monday, October 31, 2016, at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday before the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Boling Springs Cemetery in Decatur.
